I entirely agree that research is crucial to understanding and tackling dementia, and I was proud to stand on a manifesto that committed to making finding a cure for dementia one of the Government's biggest collective priorities.

I understand your concerns about the proposed powers in relation to public protests. Freedom of assembly and freedom of expression are vital rights that I wholeheartedly support, and I can reassure you that the Government is clear that the right of an individual to express their opinion and protest is a cornerstone of our democratic society.  

Regarding EDM 175 and 674 - I do not believe that signing this Early Day Motion was necessary as significant steps are already being taken by the Government to address this issue.
