Following the urgent question to the Financial Secretary on the euro crisis and its implication for the United Kingdom, Geoffrey Clifton-Brown calls on the Government for assurance that before the IMF gives money to bail out the eurozone there are sufficient financial conditions to ensure the money will be repaid.

Geoffrey Clifton-Brown (The Cotswolds) (Con): Will my hon. Friend assure the House that before the IMF gives any money to bail out the eurozone, sufficient stringent financial conditions are put in place to ensure that there is a realistic prospect of that money being repaid?

Mr Hoban: My hon. Friend makes an important point. Stringent conditions are linked to the packages offered to Greece, Ireland and Portugal, to ensure that the money is used well and wisely, and that the structural reforms that are needed to generate growth in those countries are implemented.
