On Friday, I visited Badger Wood and the Forest School Kindergarten project which is the first fully outdoor kindergarten in Gloucestershire.

The school is situated in part of the woodland at Ullenwood, Cheltenham which is an Area of Natural Beauty. Part of their ethos is to increase biodiversity and help maintain the environment of this important area. The forest school also provides an enjoyable setting for local children to benefit from outdoor play, encouraging an appreciation and awareness of environmental issues.

During my visit, I learnt more about the great work of this local kindergarten and even got involved with one of the crafts activities, making hobby horses! It is so important for our children to learn about the environment and having the opportunity to spend time outdoors is a wonderful way for them to develop vital social, language and problem solving skills.

Thank you to Mindy and Linny for inviting me and for all the work they are doing with this excellent project.
