Geoffrey Clifton-Brown MP, Member of Parliament for The Cotswolds, has been given an update on the Swindon to Kemble track doubling works.

There will be a closure of the line between Swindon and Kemble from Saturday 10th August to Sunday 1st September, as well as closures on the weekends of 10th and 11th August and 17th and 18th August on the line between Kemble and Gloucester.

Although Mr Clifton-Brown is concerned about the length of these closures, he was encouraged that the First Group confirmed they are working closely with Network Rail to minimise disruption to services as far as possible and that rail replacement bus services will run throughout.

The First Group have promised to keep Mr Clifton-Brown updated on any further developments, and he will ensure that constituents are also kept informed of the works.
