Cotswold call out times: "well below the national average".

MP, Geoffrey Clifton-Brown today reacted to the news that the Great Western Ambulance Trust are failing rural dwellers in the Cotswolds. According to Gloucestershire County Council's Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee only two thirds of " category A " call-outs are reaching patients within eight minutes, well below the national average for ambulance response times.

Mr Clifton-Brown said:
"The Ambulance trust is failing my constituents. The Ambulance Trust do not blame the rurality of the Cotswolds for this failure - they claim that there has been an increase in calls and new staffing conditions. To put the lives of my constituents in the Cotswolds at risk because of poor organisation and an inability to deal with incoming calls is inexcusable, and shows a careless disregard for life. I will be writing to the Chief Executive of the Great Western Ambulance Trust, telling him that people in rural areas have a right to expect better service in emergency situations, when every minute counts".
