National Grid - Going underground on the Cotswold Plateau

A chance to hear more about National Grid’s plans to take down 20 pylons and transform the landscape.

Local people are being invited to find out more about these once in a generation landscape enhancement plans in the Cotswolds.

National Grid plans to remove up to 20 pylons and 7 km of overhead electricity line to the east of Cheltenham and onto the Cotswold Plateau, replacing this with cables buried underground.

The project is being developed in consultation with the Cotswolds National Landscape team, Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, Natural England and Historic England. It’s still in its early planning stages so this is a great opportunity to find out more and let the project team know what you think.
