In a debate today Cotswolds MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown intervened to try and procure better helicopter cover for both the police and ambulance service in Gloucestershire.

The current ten year PFI contract for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance is currently being reviewed and this provides an opportunity for better joint working between the two Counties.

Following the debate the MP said:
“Following a number of recent fatalities near Cirencester, Stow and Chipping Camden, where a more comprehensive air ambulance cover could have saved lives, I believe it is beholden upon the police forces in both Counties and Great Western Ambulance Trust to see how better provision can be achieved for the residents of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.

“This is why I intervened”
