MP relieved that Meysey Hampton sewage problems have been resolved by Thames Water

After a year of serious inconvenience to some of the residents in Meysey Hampton, the blockage in the mains sewerage pipe from the village to the sewage treatment plant in Poulton has finally been resolved by Thames Water.

Some Meysey Hampton residents suffered 24 hour noise and fumes from a convoy of tankers having to pump out the sewage substation in the village, as well as serious damage the lorries did to the car park in wet weather.

Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, the Member of the Parliament for the Cotswolds has been actively involved and intervened on several occasions to put pressure on Thames Water to expedite the work. On hearing the news that it had all been resolved he said:

“I think it took Thames Water far too long to resolve this problem which unnecessarily added to the inconvenience of the villagers. However, I am delighted that the blockage has now been removed and the village can go back to normal life. As a follow up I have written to Thames Water to ensure that the car park and surrounding damaged roads and walls are properly restored.”
