Cotswolds MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown today met with Sue Huggins, Programme Director at Post Office Ltd, and Mark Wright, Network Change Development Manager for Post Office Ltd, to continue his campaign to restore postal services to Stratton and The Beeches.

After a constructive meeting it was established that Post Office Ltd will be conducting a review of the services on offer both locally and nationwide ahead of a wide ranging changes to the Post Office Network due to commence in 2012, although Mr Clifton-Brown will be pushing for change sooner. A range of exciting business models are currently being investigated which could lead to possibilities for services in Stratton and The Beeches and other similar communities. The door for Stratton and The Beeches remains open and Post Office Ltd has confirmed Mr Clifton-Brown’s campaign is very much in their thoughts.

Commenting on the meeting Mr Clifton-Brown said, “I was delighted to meet with both Sue Huggins and Mark Wright to put forward the case for Stratton and The Beeches. I was encouraged with what they had to say on this matter and although they could not offer a firm commitment to restore postal services I believe they are willing to work with me to find a solution to this problem. I will continue to have dialogue with Post Office Ltd and will continue to push for the restoration of postal services in both Stratton and The Beeches.”
