Hard work recognised by former Conservative Leader.
Rt. Hon Michael Howard MP pledged during the 2005 General Election that the constituency Party who gave the most help to other marginal seats, and raised the most money for campaign funds would be asked to lunch at the House of Commons. The Cotswolds Conservatives were the winners, and today joined Mr Howard and Geoffrey Clifton-Brown at Westminster.
Mr Howard said:
“It is my pleasure to welcome the Cotswolds Conservatives today. I offer my wholehearted thanks for their impressive performance at the last election; they gave the most support to other marginal constituencies, and of course their fund raising efforts have always been among the best in the UK. I would also like to congratulate their Member of Parliament, Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, for having such an impressive team in the Cotswolds”.
Mr Clifton-Brown said:
“Cotswolds Conservatives are the most hard working and dedicated team in the country, I am delighted that this has been recognised today. Too often the hard work of Party members and workers goes unrecognised and I would like to thank Michael for bringing this to the fore.”
