The Cotswolds MP, Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, recently visited Minchinhampton Primary School to present a gift voucher to Joseph Khan, aged 10, for designing the local MP’s Christmas card, the theme of which was ‘Santa Claus at the Olympics’.

Mr Clifton-Brown visited the school earlier in the year and subsequently contacted the Headteacher of the school, Mr Nick Moss, to ask if his pupils would be able to help design a card and was delighted with the number of students who took part and the quality of the entries.

The winning design was selected personally by Mr Clifton-Brown, who then presented Joseph with his prize.

Speaking afterwards, Mr Clifton-Brown said:

“I am exceedingly grateful to the Headteacher and staff at Minchinhampton Primary School for their assistance in making this competition possible.

“It has been a lot of fun putting this competition together and the number of children who entered produced a remarkable collection of bright and colourful designs, which made picking a winner very difficult.

“I awarded each child a certificate of participation in recognition of the hard work that went into their entries.

“I felt that Joseph’s drawing was a wonderful depiction of Santa Claus at the Olympics” concluded the Cotswolds MP.
