Cotswolds MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown has today written to Ms Sabine Taylor to congratulate her for her work in ensuring that Kemble Station has been re-accredited under the Secure Stations Scheme.

This is a national accreditation scheme recognising measures to improve station security and provide reassurance to passengers and staff.

Speaking today Mr Clifton-Brown said “I am pleased to hear that this accreditation has been gained. We are all keen to see the use of rail travel increase and the confidence of passengers in their own safety in using stations, particularly smaller ones such as Kemble is vital.”

With the prospects of the re-doubling of the Swindon to Kemble line increased following the decision by the South West Region Transport and Infrastructure board to divert money originally set aside for a new bypass in Westbury to the work Mr Clifton-Brown believes this reassurance for passengers will further lead to an increase in usage of the station.
