Animal loving Geoffrey Clifton-Brown MP recently attended an event in Westminster organised by Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, to raise awareness of its annual Christmas campaign.

The event aimed to highlight the famous Dogs Trust slogan - “A Dog is for Life, Not Just for Christmas” in a bit to combat the problem of dogs being given as Christmas gifts only to be later abandoned in January.

The Cotswolds MP commented:

“The event was a resounding success.

“I think this is a wonderful cause that deserves as much support as possible.

“Dogs really are not just for Christmas, they are wonderful companions throughout life” concluded Geoffrey Clifton-Brown MP.

Every year, Dogs Trust works to highlight the problems surrounding dogs being given as gifts. It is important to remember their message at this time of year to protect animals from being abandoned.
