Extra Police Funding

Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, MP for the Cotswolds, welcomes the extra funding provided by this Conservative Government, which will enable the Gloucestershire police to recruit 46 new police officers.

The announcement comes during national rural crime week, which highlights the unique impact of rural crimes on communities with the support of local police forces. It is important that the police energise their focus on how to prevent and combat crimes that are most prevalent in rural areas.

Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown MP said:

“This is a welcome response to the decline in the number of police officers Gloucestershire has seen in recent years.

“I hope that the Chief Constable will see fit to deploy some of these new officers in rural areas to help combat rural crime.”
