Cotswolds MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown has today visited Blue Coat Primary School in Wotton-under-Edge to present a gift voucher during the school’s assembly to Ralph Hull, aged 7, for designing the MP’s Christmas Card.

Mr Clifton-Brown had contacted the Headteacher of the school, Mrs Jo Wooley, to ask if her pupils would be able to design a card to help and was delighted with the number of students who took part and the quality of the entries.

The winning design was selected by the Conservative Shadow Secretary of State for Business the Rt Hon Ken Clarke MP and Mr Clifton-Brown was today able to present Ralph with his prize and a final version of the Christmas Card.

Speaking today Mr Clifton-Brown said “It has been so much fun organising this competition and I am exceedingly grateful to the Headteacher and staff at Blue Coat School for their assistance. The children who entered the competition produced a wonderful array of bright and colourful designs that made picking a winner very difficult, but Ralph’s drawing is so festive and really brings some extra seasonal cheer to the card.”
