Gloucestershire Partnership will keep current services in Cirencester.

Geoffrey Clifton-Brown has been reassured that the Cirencester Memorial Centre will not be closing, and that the services provided by the Centre, will not be removed from the town.

Mr Clifton-Brown said:
“I have been reassured by the Gloucestershire Partnership Trust today, that the Memorial Centre is not closing and staff will not be laid off. I understand the Partnership are looking, in the long-term, for a new base as the Memorial Centre is not ideal to provide a base for Twenty first century medical services. I am heartened though, that, after stressing that the services the Memorial Centre provides must remain in Cirencester, the Trust have confirmed that they will indeed remain in the town. This is a huge relief, and a vindication for campaigners who have worked tirelessly to ensure services do not move from Cirencester. However, with such a large elderly population, I remain concerned that the day care is provided consistently, and to a high standard."
