Geoffrey Clifton-Brown MP has today welcomed an announcement from the Rt Hon Andrew Robathan MP, Minister of State for the Armed Forces, that there is a long term defence need for the Duke of Gloucester Barracks at South Cerney.

This follows a complex plan for the Army which involves returns from Germany.

Mr Clifton-Brown commented:

“This is Good news for South Cerney and the Duke of Gloucester Barracks.

“South Cerney will benefit hugely from the continuation of a barracks in the area, as will all those service personnel stationed there as it provides long term stability for the families living in and around the barracks.

“The announcement confirms South Cerney’s future for 2017 and beyond,” concluded The Cotswolds MP.
