Culture Recovery Fund

9th October 2020

Three Cotswolds organisations have benefited from the £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund, with grants awarded as part of the Heritage Project Funding.  The Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, the Rt Hon Oliver Dowden CBE MP, announced Forestry England (Westonbirt, the National Arboretum), Friends of the Cotswolds, and Tetbury Police Museum and Courtroom, will all benefit from the grant.

The Government’s #HereForCulture campaign was the biggest one-off investment in UK culture, to help support organisations in the arts, culture, and heritage industries that provide so much to their communities.

Sir Geoffrey Clifton Brown, MP for the Cotswolds commented:

“I am delighted that three Cotswolds organisations will benefit from the Culture Recovery Fund.  We are lucky to live in an area with such outstanding history, culture, and green spaces, and this funding will help protect our unique heritage.

“It has been an extremely difficult time for the arts, culture, and heritage industries with lockdown badly impacting how they can operate.  This funding will help protect them through coronavirus and long into the future. Congratulations to Forestry England Westonbirt, the National Arboretum, Friends of the Cotswolds, and Tetbury Police Museum and Courtroom.”

Ten Climate Actions To Celebrate

The Cotswolds

1. The UK passed the world’s first Climate Change Act over a decade ago with cross-party support. This gave us both a framework to set statutory carbon budgets and set up the independent Committee on Climate Change.
