MP visits Kempsford Primary School

Member of Parliament for The Cotswolds, Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, paid a visit last Friday (13 January) to Kempsford Primary School, along with Cotswold District Councillor Sandra Carter, to take a tour of the school and take part in a Q & A session with the students.
Mr Clifton-Brown was given a guided tour of the school by two of its House Prefects before participating in the Q & A session with the year 5 & 6 classes. The Q & A covered the whole gambit of British democracy from the function of Parliament and how laws are made to the role of Government and Mr Clifton-Brown’s duties as an MP.
Commenting on his visit to the school Mr Clifton-Brown said: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to visit Kempsford Primary School, to take a tour of the school and speak with many of the students of years 5 and 6”
“I would like to thank the staff of the school for making me so welcome and Mrs Smart for conducting the Q & A. I was very impressed by the level to which the children were already so informed of our democracy and I found our discussions to be most engaging.”
“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the school and I wish them the best of luck with their continuing success. “
Also commenting on the meeting Councillor Sandra Carter said : “I am very grateful to the school for organising this visit and I enjoyed the day. ”
“It was very good to have the opportunity to talk to the senior class about youth club opportunities locally.”
